Enoch is an artist that I have followed the works of since middle school. He focuses mainly on macabre, unsettling work. My smaller abstract piece was a rough attempt at copying his style. I am in love with many of his works and the meanings they convey. He has a series of pieces with skulls talking to the viewer and comforting them. As I entered into highschool, I gradually began to appreciate those works more. Enoch is a very interesting person. He is a transgender man that has struggled with cancer for years now, as well as faced struggles with mental health. I think understanding his character adds a lot to the works he make. In Another Beautiful Day, I especially like how the vibrant colors pop against a grimacing face. It feels almost multimedia, meshing horror with expressionism.
